Karen is a junior associate specialized in regulatory law and foreign trade and has extensive knowledge of the applicable national legislation, as well as the governmental procedures involved in the elaboration of Mexican Official Norms (technical regulations).
Her work experience includes support on matters related to legal interpretation within the framework of free trade agreements signed by Mexico, particularly with respect to the areas of intellectual property, technical obstacles to trade and good regulatory practices. Likewise, she has experience in dispute settlement procedures before the World Trade Organization, contentious administrative proceedings and constitutional challenge proceedings (amparo) in matters of subcontracting services.
Karen has successfully completed the Diploma course on amparo proceedings organized by the Mexican Supreme Court of Justice. She speaks fluent English and French.
In 2020, she completed her Bachelor’s Law degree at the Autonomous Technological Institute of Mexico (“ITAM”, by its acronym in Spanish). Before joining Dorantes Advisors, during the 2016-2017 period, she was part of the Law Students Association “Nexum”.
In her free time, Karen can be found dancing salsa, playing board games, and hiking.
