Yazmín specializes in international trade, customs law and intellectual property. A highlight of her experience is her participation on dispute settlement procedures before the World Trade Organization, and her advice to national and foreign companies and associations in the application and interpretation of free trade agreements, as well as national legislation related to trade, foreign trade, customs law, intellectual property, and labor law (particularly, obligations related to subcontracting of specialized services or execution of specialized works and prohibition of forced or compulsory labor in workplaces).

Before joining Dorantes Advisors, she collaborated with consulting firms specialized in providing soft landing services for the business development of international companies in Mexico, as well as in market diversification, particularly in Asia. Yazmín completed her internship in the International Trade Practices Unit of the Secretariat of Economy in the resolution of antidumping and safeguards disputes, and in the development of projects related to NAFTA and the Antidumping and Countervailing Duty Handbook of the United States International Trade Commission of the Department of Commerce.

She studied Law at the UNAM Law School with a pre-specialization in Foreign Trade Law and has postgraduate studies in Intellectual Property at the same university. In addition, she has completed diplomas in Tax Procedural Law, Business Law and Customs Defense. Currently, she is in the process of obtaining a master's degree in Tax Law at the University Institute of the Confederation of Associations of Customs Agents of the Mexican Republic (“IUCAAAREM”, by its acronym in Spanish). She speaks fluent English and has an intermediate level in French.

Yazmín participated in various international competitions, including the ELSA Moot Court Competition on WTO Law 9th Edition organized by the European Law Students Association and the World Trade Organization (2010-2011); the Víctor Carlos García Moreno VIII Edition Competition on International Criminal Law; and she was part of UNAM's United Nations representative team.

Yazmín is a member of the Association of Customs Women, A.C. (“AMA” by its acronym in Spanish), and has worked as a professor on the subjects of Foreign Trade, International Treaties, Administration of Foreign Trade Companies and Mexican Business Legal Regime at the IUCAAAREM.

Yazmín loves food and enjoys constantly trying new dishes and flavors, particularly if it is while traveling and seeing new places. In her free time Yazmín enjoys good coffee, reading and playing with her dogs “Roma”, “Eros” and her kitten “Nico”. Her favorite band is Guns N' Roses.
